Style Requirements
Please submit a PDF or Postscript file prepared using one of the models below.
While we will accept .DOC, .RTF or .ODT files, we cannot guarantee
that they will render correctly on our system. Therefore,
Word and Open Office users are strongly encouraged to submit PDF or Postscript
as called for above.
The Makefile supplied with the Latex source creates Postscript and PDF.
Word may be used to create Postscript on
Windows by doing the following:
- Create a new virtual printer
- select "Print to File" instead of a printer port.
- select a driver for a Postscript model of printer (e.g. Apple LaserWriter
II NT v47.0).
- configure the printer to use letter-format paper
- Use Word to print to this printer. Choose a file name ending in .ps
- The resulting file will be Postscript. You may verify this by looking at
it with Notepad and noticing that it begins with a line like:
%!PS-Adobe-3.0
- If you wish to preview your Postscript file, or convert it to pdf, you may do so by installing
ghostscript and gsview.
Open Office users may create pdf using export to pdf. (Adobe Acrobat
provides a similar facility for Word.)
